I started my consulting practice to support refining and building collaborative employee culture while mitigating employer risk through transparent, collaborative and consistent human resources systems.

Adversarial climate and strained communication are on the rise in the workplace. Human Resources departments are frequently not equipped to manage complaints. In small schools and nonprofits, poorly managed workplace culture can spiral into full blown toxicity, jeopardizing the organization’s mission, brand and impact.

With a certification in workplace investigation in addition to almost three decades of experience as a chief executive, coach and human resources administrator, I bring an effective and thoughtful perspective to managing team culture and addressing and resolving issues when they arise. My expertise and approach is shaped from working extensively with attorneys in leading investigations as a chief executive, senior executive and board officer. Additionally, having played significant roles in corporate governance and public ethics in state and local public office and as an assistant on ethics for a United States Senator, I contribute unique expertise to support clients in nurturing a healthy workplace. I am an active member of the Association of Workplace Investigators and the Society of Human Resources Management and prioritize best practice in my work.

As a trained and licensed mediator, de-escalating tensions and identifying institutional risks so they may be swiftly mitigated is integral to my approach. The result is a transparent, efficient and objective investigation that clarifies the issue and the facts for the employer. Additionally, my clients have an opportunity to engage in ongoing coaching for the related employees on the team and use Banneker Compass’s highly unique data analytics to continue to track and refine workplace culture. Data analytics include culture and climate assessment, faculty & staff engagement, family and client mission alignment and institutional financial viability.
